פרופ' אריאלה גורדון שאג

פרופ 'גורדון-שאג חוקרת בימים אלה את תחום הראייה בילדים. בשיתוף פעולה עם ד"ר חן שטיין-זמיר  וד"ר דינה צימרמן בלשכת הבריאות ירושלים ופרופ' ברוס מור ממכללת אופטומטריה ניו-אינגלנד הם חוקרים מגוון הבטי ראייה בילדים. יחד הם פועלים לפיתוח שיטות עבודה מומלצות לבדיקות סקר ראייה בילדים במרכזי טיפות חלב.

שיתוף הפעולה שלה עם ד"ר ליסה אוסטרין מאוניברסיטת יוסטון בוחן את ההשפעה של חשיפת האור על התפתחות קוצר ראיה אצל ילדים.

פרופ' גורדון-שאג משתפת פעולה עם ד"ר עינת שניאור ופרופ' מישל מילודוט מזה למעלה מעשור בחקר האפידמיולוגיה והאתיולוגיה של מחלת הקרטוקונוס. ממצאי המחקרים שלהם פורסמו במאמרים רבים בכתבי עת מדעיים בינלאומיים. המחקר הנוכחי שלהם עוסק בשכיחות טופוגרפיה אי-רגולרית של הקרנית בבני משפחה של אנשים עם קרטוקונוס.
