פרופ' אבי בסר

פרופ' אבי בסר הוא פרופסור מן המניין לפסיכולוגיה וראש החוג להפרעות בתקשורת במכללה האקדמית הדסה. בין השנים 2013 ל- 2019 שימש סגן נשיא לעניינים אקדמיים במכללה האקדמית ספיר. פרופ' בסר למד מתואר ראשון ועד סיום הדוקטורט באוניברסיטת בן גוריון בנגב ואת פוסט הדוקטורט שלו ביצע באוניברסיטת יורק שבטורונטו, קנדה. במקביל למחקר והוראה באקדמיה, פרופ' בסר הוא פסיכולוג חינוכי מומחה. הוא בעל מוניטין ושם בינלאומי בתחום חקר האישיות ופרסם למעלה מ- 120 מאמרים אקדמיים בכתבי עת בבמות מכובדות ומובילות בתחומי הפסיכולוגיה והפסיכולוגיה של האישיות. כמו כן, כתב פרקים וספר ערוך בתחומים אלו. בנוסף שימש כעורך וחבר מערכת בכתבי עת מובילים בתחומו.

בין נושאי המחקר שלו: הקשר שבין מאפייני אישיות כגון-- נרקיסיסטיות, תלותיות, ביקורתיות עצמית, מוחצנות, נוירוטיות, פרפקציוניזם וכו' לבין משתנים הקשורים ביחסים בין אישיים, דיכאון, אובדנות, דיכאון לאחר לידה, הנאה מנופש, תגובות למצבי איום ביטחוני וכו'.

פרופ' בסר מתמקד בשנים האחרונות במחקר בתחום השלכות של תכונות אישיות כמשדרות סטאטוס והקשר שבין תכונות אלו לבין תפיסתם של אחרים את האדם המשדר את התכונה. כך למשל הוא חקר את הקשר שבין המראה של המלצר/מלצרית לבין הערכת תפקודו וגודל הטיפ שהושאר לו או למשל, ממש לאחרונה, חקר את הקשר שבין גמגום כמשדר סטאטוס לבין משיכה רומנטית והערכת הדימוי העצמי והאינטליגנציה שעושים רווקים צעירים שאינם מגמגמים כלפי אדם מגמגם מהמין הנגדי.

לתחומי המחקר העיקריים של פרופ' בסר יש נושא עקבי שהוא גורמי פגיעות אישיותיים. 

ראשית, הוא פרסם על הקשר שבין פגיעות אישיותית של ביקורת עצמית ותלותיות לבין המעבר לאימהות ולדיכאון שלאחר לידה. הוא הציג שאלות מחקר ומערכי מחקר חדשים, לתחום שהחל לאבד מומנטום. שנית, פרופ' בסר חקר באופן פעיל את הקשרים שבין גורמי פגיעות אישיותיים בהקשר של חשיפה ממושכת לטרור. לדוגמא, הוא בדק את הקשרים שבין חשיפה לטרור לבין תופעות כמו PTSD, התקשרות לא בטוחה, נרקיסיזם פתולוגי, סגנונות הומור, הערכה עצמית, אופטימיות, תקווה, אושר ואיכות חיים.

שנית, מחקריו האחרונים של בסר התמקדו בקשר שבין תכונות אישיות "אפלות" (למשל, "השלישייה האפלה", נקמנות, אנטיסוציאליות) לבין משתני תוצאה שונים כגון שיפוט מוסרי.

לבסוף, מחקריו של פרופ' בסר מתמקדים לאחרונה בתיאוריית השדר של הסטאטוס בהקשר זה הוא בדק כיצד אנחנו משדרים סטאטוס לסביבה שלנו, כיצד אחרים תופסים אותנו ואת התכונות השונות שלנו (דימויי עצמי, אישיות, אינטליגנציה וכו') רק על פי המראה הפיזי שלנו או הקול שלנו (גמגום). בכל מחקריו מעוניין פרופ' בסר להבין התנהגות אנושית, פסיכופתולוגיה, מוטיבציות ורגשות במצבים שונים במעבדה ובעיקר בחיים האמיתיים.
