Dr. Jonathan Levine (M.D.)

Dr. Jonathan Levine is an ophthalmologist with a subspecialty in medical retina. Following undergraduate studies at Princeton University, Dr. Levine received his medical training and his residency in ophthalmology at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine (AECOM) in New York. Following residency, Dr. Levine completed a fellowship in medical retina at NYU/Bellevue hospital. Dr. Levine was the residency program director at AECOM’s affiliated Bronxcare Hospital from 2011 until 2016 and won the faculty teaching award twice in his 10 years in the department.

Dr. Levine has a specific interest in telemedicine and particularly in ways telemedicine can reduce healthcare disparities in underserved urban communities. He works remotely for Bronxcare Hospital in NY running their diabetic retinal screening program, and as an image reader for clinical treatment trials for diabetic macular edema and age related macular degeneration. In addition to teaching at HAC he sees patients for Maccabi and Meuhedet in Modiin.

Dr. Levine is an instructor in the refraction clinic- teaching the students how to perform ocular health exams. In addition he is our course director for ocular anatomy.

He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Retina Specialists.
