Nirit Lahmi | Politics and Communication (B.A), 2015

"I was looking for studies that incorporated communications and politics; I think they are fields that are very connected to each other. When I discovered that the Hadassah Academic College had a department for Politics and communications I felt that it was exactly what I was looking for.

I remember that in my final year there were many practical workshops which were amazing. For example: a Radio workshop, behind the scenes of newspapers and more. In the final year I specialized in an intern program called “The next big thing” by the career management center in the college, with one of the members of parliament. This internship gave me experience in the political field.

Now, I work as an administrative coordinator in the “Legal Forum for Israel” organization. This organization deals in guarding the interests of the State of Israel in legal ways. For example, we meet with spokespeople and brainstorm ideas on how to promote the objectives that are important to us. We are in touch with parliament members and ministers for the topics we are trying to promote, and more. I feel that I am learning a lot in this job, we manage to take important issues and bring them to discussion through parliament members, and really manage to make the wheel turn."
