This talk will describe the Glasses in Classes initiative promoting compliance with wearing glasses in UK schools and importance of vision screening and spectacle correction in children. 

Dr. Brendan Barret (PhD, University of Dublin, 1994) is an Optometrist who has been teaching optometry at the University of Bradford since 1996. He has been involved in a variety of roles related to education of UK Optometrists and Dispensing opticians at the UK General Optical Council (the regulatory body) since 2010, and researches developmental disorders of vision and the impact of uncorrected refractive error on academic performance and learning in elementary schoolchildren.
