The housing crisis, dual economy, social gaps and growth are only some of the many interesting issues that were raised at the conference, "The Challenges Facing the Israeli Economy," which took place at the College under the auspices of the Faculty of Economics and Accountancy and the Faculty of Service Organizations Management.
The Chairperson of the College Management Committee, David Brodet, gave a lecture before hundreds of students and the many participants on the economic challenges facing the State of Israel. Prof. Avi Simchon, head of the National Economics Counsel reviewed the reasons for the spread of tens of percentage points between the per capita product in Israel and that of the OECD countries. Prof. Yosef Frost, Head of the faculty of Service Organizations Management gave a lecture on the health economy.
There was also a panel with the participation of the following dignitaries: Prof. Shlomo Yitzhaki, Head of the Faculty of Economics and Accountancy, Gal Hershkovitz, the past Budget Director at the Treasury and, currently, the owner of the company, Citrin and Prof. Reuven Grunau from the Hebrew University. The panel was headed by Adv. and CPA Ziv Cohen, the head of the Accountancy study course at the College.
