Guidance for grandchildren of people with aphasia

Dear parents

The video you are about to watch is intended for children (age 4-12) that are grandchildren of people with aphasia.

The video is intended to help the grandchildren learn about the language and communication impairment their grandparent has and introduce the grandchildren to ways that can assist communication.

We believe that information and tools can help them strengthen their bond and enrich their communication with their grandparent with aphasia.

The video shows an interaction between a granddaughter and her grandfather after he had a stroke and has aphasia. During the video the grandfather's language difficulties are shown, alongside explanations provided by the girl's mother.

Important recommendation:

1.       Watch the video without your children

2.       Read the instruction pages- Click here

Only then, watch again with your children.

SLPs,

We recommend watching the video before meeting the family members and reading the attached instruction pages.
