About Us - Communication Disorders, (B.A.)

Effective communication is essential for every interaction we experience in our daily lives. Access to effective intervention is essential for individuals with communication disorders. In recent years, there has been a growing awareness of communication disorders and an ever-increasing demand for clinicians with the knowledge and skills to address these conditions.

Academics for an Emerging Field

Hadassah Academic College's Bachelors of Communication Disorders program educates students to meet the varied needs of individuals with communications disorders. Students acquire skills to work in the areas of Audiology and Speech and Language.

The program includes theoretical courses as well as practical "hands on" experience in clinics taught by leading professionals in the field. The areas of study include assessment and intervention in a wide variety of communication disorders. The department includes three clinics dedicated to the clinical education of the students and to the community service. The clinics include: Audiology/ENT clinic, Speech and Language clinic and the Adler Aphasia Center.

Program Details

The Bachelors of Communication Disorders program is a full time program (35 hours per week) and encompasses seven academic semesters over three and a half years. Graduates receive a B.A. degree recognized by the Israeli Council of Higher Education and are eligible to take the Ministry of Health professional licensure exam. Licensed graduates are qualified to work as audiologists and speech-language pathologists in a variety of clinical positions.

Program applicants must submit records from high school matriculation and psychometric examinations. In addition, applicants will be interviewed by the admission committee of the department.
